Super Fast Breakfast Ideas

In preparing for a presentation I have tonight for the El Tour Junior program, I was reminded of some good ideas for busy mornings. There's no excuse for skipping breakfast with these simple ideas!Costco ORganic berriesBerry Smoothie & Toast Blend together frozen organic berries, plain organic yogurt, frozen banana, and ground flax or chia seeds. To save time in the morning, place yogurt and seeds in the blender canister at night, set the  canister in the fridge, and add frozen fruit in the morning. Blend and serve with whole grain bread spread with natural nut butter.Veggie Omelet WrapsAt night, put leftover salad veggies in an airtight container with omega 3-eggs, beat eggs quickly and place in fridge. In the morning, pour eggs and veggies into hot pan, scramble with a cooking spray or extra virgin olive oil. Wrap in whole grain tortilla, or use chard leaves as a "wrap". I looked for a picture of chard wraps and came up with the one in this post. This comes from Tastespace and the recipe looks pretty delicious for another breakfast idea.Oatmeal PacketsOn the weekend make oatmeal packets with your favorite unsweetened dried fruits, nuts and spices. Put oatmeal and condiments in individual zip lock bags. In the morning all you have to do is, put water or milk in a bowl, add oatmeal, cook for 5 minutes and serve. Alternately, you can make a big batch of oatmeal and freeze in individual serving sizes. This can be done with any hot cereal, such as hot quinoa, buckwheat, millet, brown rice, or a blend of these whole grains.Material on this blog is provided for informational purposes only.
