Newly Released "Dirty Dozen"
What a coincidence! I posted last week about Pantry Essentials and my new web page What to Buy that details the foods you should organic, which includes the Dirty Dozen. The Dirty Dozen, compiled by the non-profit Environmental Working Group, is a listing of the vegetables and fruits that contain high levels of pesticide residues and therefore should be prioritized to be purchased as organic. Then today the Environmental Working Group updated their Dirty Dozen list. This year they expanded the list to include produce that are contaminated with neurotoxic organophosphate pesticides and they also reviewed baby foods for the first time.Check out What to Buy and learn more about what and why you should be buying organic.Download the Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce 2012EWGPesticideGuide (pdf) print it out and keep it in your wallet to review while grocery shopping.Dirty Dozen Plus (highest in pesticide residue)
