Keeping your Holiday Mindful
As the holidays quickly approach, I am finding my mindfulness weaken. There is something about this time of year, extra stress mixed with excitement, that tricks me into thinking I can get away with more than usual. For this reason, it's time to strengthen our mindful eating muscles in the Mindful Holidays workshop starting this week.
- The first class of the Mindful Holiday Workshop will tune us back into what belongs on our plate. We will discuss what an anti-inflammatory plate means to each of us, and how to execute that consistently at each meal.
- Making it out of a holiday party without landing in a food coma may seem like an impossible victory. At the second class, you will learn how. Mindfulness at meal times and holiday gatherings will be the focus and leaving this class, your mindful eating muscles will be able to take on any challenge thrown their way.
- Finally, it is important to keep self-care front and center during the holiday season. It’s unrealistic to take away your favorite holiday treat without knowing alternate coping methods. In our third session we’ll discuss strategies to resist temptations while learning to treat our bodies with respect.
Mindfulness is a practice that can be put into place every day. The attitude you’ll take away from this workshop will not only help you survive the holiday season, but also guide you in leading a healthful life after the decorations are back in their boxes.Join me the first three Wednesdays in December to prepare your mind for this holiday.
