Indian Guacamole

Image from and recipe modified from Sunset.comThis amazing recipe is a simplified version from a recipe in Sunset magazine. I can't believe how good it is! I've made it multiple times now and it always gets rave reviews. A colleague of mine at the UA made it as well, and she and her family also loved it.Not only is it delicious, it is also really good for you! The spices are  anti-inflammatory, which only adds to the health-goodness of the avocados. So eat up! This is definitely one that is good for your taste buds and your body too!

  • 3 avocados
  • ¼ onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ teaspoon each: ground mustard, cumin, coriander, turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

Mash the avocados with the rest of the ingredients. Season to your liking with additional spices and salt.Serve with sliced cucumber, jicama and daikon radish. The veggies give a fresh, crispness that brings out the flavors of the spices and cilantro. Typially I serve guacamole with sliced veggies and a good tortilla chip. Lately I've been using Food Should Taste Goodchips because they are non-GMO and made simply with few ingredients.Nutrition Details:Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan. Serves 6.Material on this blog is provided for informational purposes only.
